First Class at Pacific School Of Oriental Medicine!
No, I am not taking, I am teaching!
Yesterday was my first class teaching clinical counseling at PCOM NYC and it was a blast.
Working with out a net and with very loose guidelines, the students myself and Wendy (my co teacher) will be crafting the class as we go.
Our goal is very simple. To build on the existing curriculum and enhance the students experience utilizing Taoist wisdom and energetics to do it. In this way they will not know it just in their heads, but in their hearts, their bones and their souls!
Sounds easy, but I can tell you first hand that it wasn't however the students in the class made it easier for and on me.
I am blessed, the students are great. They have passion, spirit and energy and so far, are making the experience for me a blast. For most of them, this is a second career and have a tremendous amount of life experience that they can tap into and use in their future work.
My job is to help them gain access to it. At least that's how I see my job at this particular moment in time.
My co teacher Wendy comes from a psychotherapeutic background with a tremendous amount of energy work from the cranial sacral community.
Her warmth and her transparency with my bull in a china shop authenticity makes for a fabulous team.
and last but not least, the administration. The COO and all of the administrators are extremely supportive of these evolutionary direction.
I am profoundly grateful to be in this new environment!
